April 8, 2009 – FORT WAYNE, IN. The Heartland Chamber Chorale Sings: In Remembrance, Sunday, April 19, 2009 4PM at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church in downtown Fort Wayne. This performance will feature the Heartland Chamber Chorale, New Haven High School Choirs, and the Singers of the University of Saint Francis. This annual concert is free to the community, thanks to a generous grant from the Schneider Foundation The featured work is The Holocaust Cantata, Songs from the Camps, by Don McCullough. The singers will be accompanied by Fort Wayne Philharmonic artists David Rezits, cellist, and Alexander Klepach, pianist. Readers will include: David Eisenhauer, member of the Chorale; David Freeman, member of First Presbyterian Church; Doris Fogel, executive director of the Fort Wayne Jewish Federation; Larry Adelman, board member of the Fort Wayne Jewish Federation; Beth Zweig, president of Temple Achduth Vesholom; and Laura Zweig, Summit Middle School 8th grader. Following the Cantata, the New Haven High School Choirs under the direction of Jeff Kennedy and the Saint Francis University Singers under the direction of Robert Nance will join the members of the Chorale to sing selections of remembrance, hope and peace. Powerful ideas expressed in words and song will provide a meaningful experience. Join Heartland Chamber Chorale and the HCC Side by Side choirs in this important gift to the community. A free-will offering will be accepted to benefit the Fort Wayne Jewish Federation’s outreach programs. |
