Founded in 1997 by Maestro Robert Nance, Heartland a professional vocal organization headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Heartland currently consists of three ensembles: An 8 member full-time professional ensemble, a 24-32 member part-time professional chamber choir, and 80+ member Festival Chorus. From these resources, Heartland creates a wide variety of programs, from small vocal jazz ensemble concerts to large choral orchestral works. Heartland also produces opera, musical theater, educational events, and commissions new music.
The purpose of Heartland is to entertain and enrich audiences in a 225-mile radius of Fort Wayne with a goal to serve as a professional, educational resource for the vocal arts, from small vocal ensembles to full fledged symphonic choruses.
Through varied and dynamic programming, Heartland has been entertaining and educating audiences for over 17 years. Our passion for vocal performance comes from the knowledge that vocal music touches the heart, mind and soul in ways no other art form can match, and in such a manner that forever changes the lives of participants and audiences alike.
